Aromatic Joha rice from Assam

Brightcrop Agro is working to revive and promote authentic Joha rice cultivation in the Dhemaji and Goalpara districts of Assam. Our process begins with the careful selection and distribution of pure, traditional Joha seeds sourced directly from farmer seed banks and trusted local cultivators. We support farmers through land preparation guidance, natural cultivation practices, and field monitoring to ensure the rice retains its characteristic aroma, texture, and grain purity. Harvesting of Joha paddy is carried out carefully at the right maturity to preserve its natural aroma and grain quality. Farmers follow gentle threshing and sun-drying practices to maintain the grain’s delicate structure. The dried paddy is then stored in clean, moisture-free conditions at the farm level to prevent spoilage and preserve freshness until further processing. This careful handling ensures that the authentic character of Joha rice is retained from field to final product.
